Amie Green

Hi there! My name is Amie Green.
I have lived in St Boniface for the past five years. I have been involved with the community throughout that time and a few years before moving here.
I served on PAC at École Provencher and volunteered with the school. I’ve helped plan and execute fundraisers for everything from new iPads to playground renovations. I also helped with hot lunches, supervised the lunch hour chess club, and planned the Year End BBQ.
I am self-employed and work homecare part-time. I have also worked with foster children of all ages and disabilities. I am a hard worker, and I think outside the box.
I believe that learning never ends. It can happen at any point in your life or any time of day. I have a Tourism Management Diploma from Red River College. I attended Evolve College of Massage Therapy also the University of Winnipeg.
I want to make positive changes and advocate for our children to have a better education and become self-sufficient adults. I believe we can start making changes immediately, with a low cost but a high impact.
I want to make sure our teachers have the resources that they require. I also want to hear from the parents and families if they have any concerns or questions. Please email amiefortrustee@gmail.com
One thing I have noticed is that we are lacking in community. If the past couple of years has taught us anything, it is that we all need to come together and support each other. While I was on PAC I noticed that there was always a need for volunteers (hot lunches, events, fundraising, or writing letters for grants). I noticed that some PACs don’t have a lot of parent involvement, leaving some with barely enough to have a quorum. Did you know that as a community member, you can attend PAC? You do not need to have a child at the school to help out! So, if you are reading this and you haven’t volunteered yet, I am challenging you to please get in touch with your closest school/PAC and find out what you can do! After all, it takes a village to raise a child!
Instead of spending money on a campagin, I decided to do what I know best.... How to host an event! On October 30, I am hosting a Roller skating Halloween Fundariaser, with all proceeds going to the schools in Ward One. Sorry to the other wards, but there are a lot of schools in this division! For tickets or to make a donation, please email agreen204@outlook.com
Thank you for your time and consideration.
